David Luiz axed by Antonio Conte as Chelsea face Manchester United test

Chelsea dropped David Luiz for their Premier League showdown with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Newspaper reports suggested the change was coming after Antonio Conte was said to be furious with the team’s defending in the 3-0 Champions League defeat to Roma during the week.

Conte had been training with youngster Andreas Christensen in the back three leading up to the game, according to The Sun.

And confirmation came from Stamford Bridge that Christensen started the match against United, with Luiz nowhere to be seen.

N’Golo Kante returned to the starting XI for Chelsea while United were unchanged from the team which beat Tottenham 1-0 last time out in the Premier League.
