Klopp sends Robertson ultimatum

Jurgen Klopp has told Andrew Robertson he must improve if he wants to dislodge Alberto Moreno as Liverpool’s left-back.

The Spanish full-back was left in the cold last season with James Milner taking his place but has since been reinstated to the starting line-up, meaning Robertson has been limited to just three appearances.

But Klopp insists Robertson can learn a lot from Moreno’s attitude to improving and follow in his footsteps.

“That’s the exact situation for Andy Robertson. People will say: ‘Why do you do that [sign Robertson], because he is here and not playing?’

“Because he has to learn, but there is no problem. We are in conversation, talk about it and he has to improve.”
