The hormone kisspeptin can improve male sexual desire
The increase in kisspeptin hormone activity in a certain area of the brain of men may have the potential to reduce anxiety and increase sexual behavior, according to a study in male mice.

According to the same, and based on previous similar research, the forced increase (in a controlled manner in the laboratory) of kisspeptin hormone activity in a certain area of the brain of male mice, specifically in the amygdala brain, could have the potential to reduce anxiety in animals and increase their sexual appetite.
Thus, they observed that while kisspeptin sensitive neurons motivate sexual desire and reduce anxiety, not only sex is encouraged, but the possibilities of effective reproduction are increased. How to transfer this to human beings? For many men the anxiety can be a trigger for sexual dysfunction so the fundamental role of kisspeptin hormone in the regulation of behavior, both sexual and social, could be taken into account to correct disorders in men related to anxiety.
The authors of the study have stated that it is not clear if this hormone has the same effect in female mice. Neither is it possible to modify the sexual orientation by silencing receptive neurons to kisspeptin, so they insist that further research is needed in this way to really know to what extent the hormone conditions sexual behaviors , as well as their involvement in humans.
