Borno’s government to turn Boko Haram’s house to museum

Borno is making plans to convert Mohammed Yusuf’s home to a museum.

No, this is not Mohammed Yusuf’s house

Mohammed Yusuf is the former leader of the deadly Boko Haram sect and the state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Dr Mohammed Bulama has said his house will be turned into the state’s museum for educational purpose.

Mohammed Bulama revealed this at an event put together by Federal Ministry of Information and Culture. With the theme “Tourism and Culture as Panacea for Nigeria’s Economic Recovery”.

At the event held in Dutse Jigawa, the commissioner said the house the former sect’s leader will be place containing all the things that had happened relating to the insurgency.

“We are going to convert the house of the leader of the Boko Haram sect Mohammed Yusuf where the insurgency all started from, to a museum.

“The place is called Maarcas ; we want to build a museum there where all the things that had happened relating to the insurgency will be archived .

“We want to document and archive all that had happened so that our future generation will be able to have first – hand information, ” he said .

Yusuf who was the sect’s leader and founder of Boko Haram was killed in 2009 .
