The new generation of the Jeep Wrangler will debut a new 4-cylinder turbo engine with micro-hybridization system. In addition you will have a V6 with 290 HP.
The generational relay of the Jeep SUV will come to the market completely renovated next year, although with an exterior aesthetic that has managed to preserve its main characteristics, the grid of seven vertical bars, the main round headlights and its unmistakable silhouette.
The new Jeep Wrangler has been developed on a new platform and it includes an aluminum body to reduce car weight compared to the previous model. It will also be available in closed body format and convertible.
Where the changes become more evident is in the interior, although it retains the usual dashboard design, it adds new technologies and trimmings. It includes a new information and entertainment system UConnect with touch screen up to 8.4 inches, with Apple Car Play, Android Auto and integrated navigation.
The engine will include two alternatives for gasoline in North America. The first one will be the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that develops 290 horsepower, in combination with a six-speed manual or eight-ratio automatic.
There will also be a new turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 270 horsepower.
It’s a micro-hybrid that will be associated with a 48-volt battery that recovers energy from the breaks, which can also be combined with a manual or automatic change. Later the range will be enriched with a 2.0-liter diesel engine, although the latter may be destined for European markets.
