Adamawa currently under fresh attack by suspected herdsmen
Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have attacked a village in Adamawa state, according to reports.
Information gathered revealed that the attack is still ongoing at the time of this repot.
According to Channel TV, the gunmen launched the attacks on Lawaru and Dung communities in Demsa local government area of the state.
No death has been recorded at the time of this report but sources say the attackers are burning down homes in the village.
According to Chairman, Numan Local Government Area residents had to flee from their homes to safety.
Recall that Alhaji Sale Bayeri has said a push to ban open grazing in Plateau State will not resolve the conflict in the state but only make matters worse.
During a protest in Adamawa, Emma Zopmal who is the President of Middle Belt Youth Council, said the protest was a bid to urge the regional leaders of the six states to ban open grazing in the entire zone, adding that the endless attack by Fulani herdsmen in parts of Plateau State which have led to the death of over 50 persons was worrisome.
But Alhaji Sale Bayeri who is the Secretary-General of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), said a ban on open grazing would be tantamount to banning a people’s way of life.
