Nigerians set to protest in 9 states against SARS operations

The campaign to scrap the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has gotten to another level with a planned protest by Nigerians in nine states, including Abuja.

“This is a protest to stop SARS brutality, intimidation, extortion and killings,” a flyer currently circulating on social media and endorsed by human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, said.

According to the announcement, the protest will hold simultaneously across the states and Abuja on Monday, December 11.

The listed areas are Lagos, Port Harcourt in Rivers state, Warri in Delta state, Ibadan in Oyo, Awka in Anambra, Makurdi in Benue, Jos in Plateau, Kaduna and Owerri in Imo.

The ‘end SARS’ rally is to be held across the states in commemoration of the World Human Rights Day.
