Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes because of Jorge Mendes, according to reports.
Manchester United are set to splash the cash next month with Jose Mourinho determined to steer the club to silverware in his second season at the helm.

Barcelona midfielder Gomes was linked with a move to Old Trafford back in the summer, having toiled at the Nou Camp since his 2016 move from Valencia.

Yet Spanish outlet Don Balon say that, though Manchester United failed to sign him during the summer transfer window, the Red Devils have renewed their interest.

And superagent Jorge Mendes is supposedly influencing a deal that would see Gomes become Mourinho’s first winter signing.
