- Ousmane Dembele was seen clutching his left hamstring
- Barca boss assured worried supporters that there’s nothing to fear
Despite Ousmane Dembele leaving the pitch clutching his left hamstring at the end of Thursday’s Copa del Rey clash against Celta Vigo, Ernesto Valverde has assured Barcelona’s supporters that there’s nothing to worry about.
This was the very same leg in which he suffered an initial injury back in September, and what followed was a layoff right through to January.
In the minutes he spent on the pitch, the former Borussia Dortmund forward impressed with his direct play, and he was a danger to the opponents whenever he had the ball.
Further tests will follow but those within the club will hope it isn’t a recurrence of the problem which has blighted much of his career in Catalonia.
“Dembele does not have anything special,” was Valverde’s response in his post match press conference.
