New study explains why people commit adultery
500 adulterers explain why they did it.
Cheating is horrible, this is a known fact. So why do people choose to cheat someone with whom they share the same bed – and perhaps even the same life?
A new study involving 500 people exposed the reasons that led people to cheat and you may be surprised.
The findings, published in The Journal of Sex Research , showed that people cheat because they are dissatisfied with their relationship and feel neglected.
But there are more reasons that led people to break the bonds of monogamy. The study found that people also cheat for the following reasons:
- “I stopped being in love with my partner”
- “I’m not very committed.”
- “I want to increase my popularity.”
- “I wanted a greater variety of sexual partners.”
- “I drank too much and was not thinking clearly.”
Essentially, it is not just because there may be problems in the relationship. Sometimes people just want to sleep with another person to enjoy sex with a new partner. As for the popularity excuse, it’s just silly, let’s be honest.
