Benue killings: Plateau Governor apologises over anti-grazing law comments

The Plateau state governor, Solomon Lalong has apologised over his anti-grazing law comments.
He said his comments were misinterpreted

The governor had earlier said he warned his counterpart, Benue state governor, against implementing anti-grazing law.

Punch reports that Lalong said his comments after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, January 11, were misinterpreted.

But on Saturday, January 13, Lalong said: “I must say that I humbly apologise for my comments.”
He then registered his condolence with the people of Benue state over the loss of lives during the crisis.

He stated: “I apologise for that because neither the argument for nor against helps the matter because it involves lives.”
