The new Mercedes Benz G-Class, now official

The new Mercedes Benz G-Class officially debuted at the Detroit Auto Show. It comes with a lot of improvements in its technological field. But the extrior retains its iconic design.

A few weeks ago the German firm showed the first images of its interior and a few days later, the first exterior photographs were leaked on the internet. Right now, we have fresh details about the new G-Class Mercerdes which was released at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show.

The generational release of this iconic SUV has managed to maintain a great part of its design characteristics. And despite that iconic appearance, the new generation premieres new chassis, engines and transmissions.

Where the model does live a revolution is in the interior, which comes with a new dashboard design and adds the latest technologies in terms of safety, entertainment and driving assistance.

The design features is typical of the most luxurious vehicles designed by the German brand which includes a natural leather coatings for the seats, a dashboard and doors made of trimmed wood or carbon fiber.

It also offers automatic bi-zone climate control with outputs in the rear seats, ventilated and heated seats with massage function and a powerful sound system.

Regarding its mechanics, the manufacturer assures that it is more dynamic and agile than the previous model when driving off the asphalt, retaining its off-road qualities.

The front suspension of double triangles and rigid rear axle has been developed in collaboration with AMG and in option can also equip adaptive dampers.

The only engine that has been confirmed so far is a G 500 engine, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 422 hp and a maximum torque of 610 Nm, in combination with a new 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with torque converter and nine speeds.
