Manchester United most expensive footballer Paul Pogba is set to demand a pay-rise that will match the wages on new arrival Alexis Sanchez.
The Red Devils are offering Alexis Sanchez a basic salary of almost £100 million over the next four-and-a-half years.
The Sanchez deal will force Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola to ask for a rise as they believe £200,000-a-week no longer befits the player of Pogba’s stature.
The French international will have three years left on the contract he signed in 2016 when he returned to United from Juventus for a then-world record £89 million.
United can also take up a further 12-month option, but they are aware of the need to secure Pogba’s future throughout the peak years of his career.
Sanchez was in Manchester last night having a medical, he is expected to seal his arrival from Arsenal in the next 24 hours after Mkhitaryan agreed to move to the Emirates as part of the deal.
Manchester United prepared for the imminent arrival of Sanchez with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor, the goal was scored by by Anthony Martial.
