Lionel Messi gives green light to three Barcelona transfer deals
Lionel Messi has reportedly given his approval to Barcelona’s summer transfer plans.
Barcelona are flying high in La Liga but with rivals Real Madrid set to splash the cash at the end of the season, the Catalan giants can’t afford to rest on their laurels.
Behind the scenes Barca are already said to be working on their next transfer plans with at least one marquee signing being eyed.
Lionel Messi is thought to have an influence over which areas Barca need to strengthen and helps advise club chiefs over potential signings.
And Spanish publcation Don Balon say Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann is at the top of their wishlist.
Barcelona recently denied an agreement has already been reached for the Frenchman’s transfer but talks have already begun and Griezmann has his eye on a summer switch.
Messi would welcome the forward to the Nou Camp with the Atletico hitman providing healthy competition to himself and Luis Suarez.
Don Balon also say Messi is pleased with Barca’s plans to snap up is Gremio star Arthur.
Barca are said to be on the brink of signing the midfielder and will loan him back to the Brazilian outfit if a deal is completed today.
The final position Messi and Barca chiefs agree they need to invest in is a new left-back with Jordi Alba and Lucas Digne still needing to impress Ernesto Valverde.
Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina are the only two new arrivals at the Nou Camp this month.
Barca splashed out £142million on Liverpool ace Coutinho, while Mina cost £10m from Palmeiras, sparking several departures from the club.
Javier Mascherano has left the club, while Rafinha and Arda Turan are out on loan, taking their wages off the bill.
