Barcelona news: Philippe Coutinho tells Lionel Messi of one major summer transfer
Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has reportedly learned of a major transfer which will happen in the summer.
And after he picked up the tale he quickly told team-mate Lionel Messi the news which will strengthen their squad next season.
Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona all through the winter window.
However, the Catalan club released a statement in January insisting that they had not made an offer, such was the intensity of the rumours.
But it is another man who Coutinho knows closely which is apparently set to move to the Nou Camp in the summer.
And that player is Gremio midfielder Arthur, who is from Coutinho’s homeland Brazil.
Rumours circulated yesterday that Barcelona were closing in on a £26million deal for the 21-year-old.
However, Arthur’s release clause currently stands at £44m.
Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool for £142m at the beginning of the year and has quickly settled.
He shared his latest secret with new-found friend Messi and they are both fond on the player – according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol .
Arthur played against Real Madrid in the Club World Cup final in December in which Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game to win the tournament for Los Blancos.
