Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has responded to rumours that Los Blancos want to replace him at the end of the season.
The La Liga champions have been heavily linked with moves for Manchester United’s David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois, of Chelsea .
It is expected that Real Madrid will have a complete overhaul of their squad in the summer as they struggle to defend their title this year.
However, Navas insists that he does not want to leave the Bernabeu in the near future, although acknowledges one day he will.
And he has warned any potential incomings, be it De Gea or Courtois, that he will be sticking around to fight for the number one shirt.
“If Real Madrid were to sign a goalkeeper in the future and let him compete with me then I would like that and it wouldn’t intimidate me,” Navas said.
“I am calm because one day I will have to go.
“Nobody will last for ever and only God knows when [I will leave].
“I give my all in every training and in every match, so I have to live with that.
“I don’t know if the club have doubts about me, I only know that I still have a contract and I will remain calm.”
Real president Florentino Perez tried to sign De Gea in 2015 when Iker Casillas left the club.
However, a faulty fax machine scuppered the deal at the final hour.
