Arsenal news: Gunners legend Martin Keown makes bold Tottenham vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal will nick a point off Tottenham when the north London rivals go head-to-head at Wembley this weekend.

That’s the verdict of former Gunners and England star Martin Keown, who admits his old side are no longer favourites for the Premier League clash.

Arsenal go into Saturday’s game off the back of a resounding 5-1 win over Everton in their last top-flight fixture.

They have suffered defeats on three of their last five away trips in all competitions though and currently sit four points adrift of Tottenham in sixth.

Spurs, meanwhile, have not lost since their 4-1 thrashing at Manchester City in December and beat Manchester United in their last Premier League fixture at Wembley.

However, Keown reckons Arsenal will manage to hold Tottenham when they go up against Mauricio Pochettino’s men on Saturday.

“Given Arsenal’s dreadful away form, this should be a Tottenham win… but I am going for a 1-1 draw,” he told the Daily Mail.

Keown also explained why he doesn’t think Arsenal have the upper hand going into the showdown.

“I don’t put Arsenal as favourites because of their appalling away record,” he added.
“They have won just three of their 13 Premier League away games. They have been that bad away from home that at times I have found it difficult to watch them.

“When Arsenal are really at it — as they were at home against Everton last week — they can embarrass teams. With the artistry of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, they will be able to do that to a few teams.

“But Arsenal are not yet ready to win a Premier League because of their inability to stay in games away from home for long enough to grind out results.

“They have not been thorough enough in their defending. There seems to be a lack of focus at the start of games and Arsenal have been sloppy.”
