Apple says there is a bug that can “crash” any device

A new bug can wipe your phone in a blink of an eye, according to Apple.
A software bug has been discovered that can “crash” any Mac or iOS app. It involves codes in Telugu, an Indian language. Apple says it will try to solve the problem before leaving iOS 11.3.

Technology journalists say the bug only takes a couple of characters. But the good news is that the characters in question are in Unicode and are in a foreign language (Telugu), so the likelihood of someone using them in other parts of the world is relatively low.

The Verge first reported that the bug affects the message app for iOS, making it impossible to show you new posts. To gain access again, they found that you have to send a new message to erase the one that caused the crash.

They have encountered similar issues in apps like Gmail or WhatsApp, where fixing the problem is not so easy – in some cases they had to uninstall the app completely to access the problem.

The TechCrunch tried similar tests with similar results. They also found that the problem is not limited to mobile devices – a MacBook Pro with MacOS High Sierra was also a victim of the bug. If it’s a consolation, they’ve found that it affects devices with the most up-to-date versions of Mac and iOS – if you’re one of those who’s always postponing software updates, then that’s okay.

The good news is that Apple is already aware of the situation a few days ago. IOS 11.3 will come out soon, and said the beta versions of this software had no problems with Unicode characters. What’s more, they said they were going to solve the problem before, so if you receive the request to upgrade to something like iOS 11.2.5. or something like that, do not ignore it.
