After Amazon and Google launched their own smart speakers powered by their virtual assistants, Apple joined the trend with HomePod . But someone else was missing: Facebook. But this year, it will launch two speakers in the same style as the Amazon Echo, according to leaks.
Digitimes reports that Mark Zuckerberg’s company is working on two models codenamed “Aloha” and “Fiona”.
Both will be powered by voice recognition technology similar to other virtual assistants from other companies (Alexa and Siri, for example), but one of the models, Aloha, would have a 15 “touch screen to take advantage of the social functions of Facebook and Messenger, including video calls, in addition to playing multimedia content.
The company would be working on these speakers with the intention of launching them in July.
