Confirmed! The first Rolls-Royce SUV will be called Cullinan and it looks so majestic
The coming of the first Rolls-Royce SUV is late because it was first announced in 2016 and was scheduled to debut in 2017.
As we know it, the superluxury firm has confirmed that its SUV will be called Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The name is not surprising because the initiative was known as ‘Project Cullinan’.
However, next to the official confirmation, the English brand has released some more photos of its prototype doing what it is supposed to do: look luxurious in a rough environments .
Rolls-Royce Cullinan: the supreme conjunction between luxury and offroad
The name Cullinan is a nod to the culture of extreme luxury because it refers to a diamond of 3,106 carats discovered in a South African town called Cullinan.
The features of its first SUV are as impressive as its exaggerated external dimensions capable of ‘shading’ Bentley Bentayga, equipping a chassis entirely made of aluminum as in the Rolls-Royce Phantom with a motor of 12 cylinders, most likely a development of the Ghost’s twin-turbo 6.6-liter, a plug-in-hybrid version and an automatic gearbox of eight speeds.
For now, we don’t know when the Rolls-Royce Cullinan will hit the market, but rumors say it could land in 2018, perhaps during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August.
