Android 9.0 might have dark mode: Google engineers are already working on it

Android works extremely hard to improve its services. In every version of its operating system, Android adds a new tool that is high on demand.

One of these tools that have been seen over the years is the dark mode or night mode. Now through the Google Issue Tracker , we can see how this highly requested function will be incorporated into the next version of Android.

The rise of OLED screens and its pure black makes the night mode very interesting in Android. Currently it can only be activated through third-party apps, but several users have asked Google to add an option officially in the system settings. At the end of November the Google team got down to work and from today, February 23, Google has marked the error as solved. What this means is that the feature has been added and will come in the next version of Android.

The truth is that a few years ago with Android M, the preview of what would ultimately be Android 6.0 Marshmallow, had dark mode as one of its functions. It worked quite well but inexplicably in the final version of Android this option disappeared.

Something similar happened with Android N. Google included the dark mode but in Nougat 7.0 we did not have it either.

So we hope that this confirmation by Google engineers is not just another chapter where the technical team creates a much requested option but then for some unknown reasons, it is not implemented.
