In this new development, in addition to the launch of new photos and a video, the South Korean brand reveals the range of engines, as well as the technology the largest SUV family will equip.
As it happened with the previous generation, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 will hit the market in two designs, one of five seats and another of seven, which will be called the Santa Fe and Grand Santa Fe respectively. Thinking about habitability, it grows in size, measuring 4,770 mm in length and 1,890 mm in width, while the wheelbase increases to 2,766 mm .

Two gasolines, one diesel … and maybe a hybrid version

The main features are the mechanics that will equip the fourth generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe. It will have both gasoline and diesel options. Also, Hyundai has dropped that it will also feature a hybrid variant, although details are not known at the moment and in which markets it will be marketed.

In the diesel-fueled offer, only a turbocharged 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower will be available. The access option is found in a 2.4-liter engine of 187 hp , while the most powerful engine in the range will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged that will reach 235 hp delivery.

According to the brand, this new change reduces car weight and improves efficiency. Similarly, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will maintain the total traction, which can be adjusted electronically to three driving models: Normal, Sport and Intelligent.

Injection technology for the Hyundai Santa Fe 2018

The Asian manufacturer also advances part of the technology that Santa Fe 2018 will hide , focused on both active and passive security with the SmartSense label . Systems such as the front anti-collision, lane maintenance or blind spot warning will be present, as well as the automatic emergency braking at low speeds or the Safe Exist Assist spot , assistant that stops the doors opening in case of detecting the nearby presence of other vehicles .

It will also incorporate Rear Occupant Alert technology , which warns of the presence of passengers inside if we close the car, thinking of those forgetful parents who forget their children inside the vehicle. The moment a passenger is left behind in the car and all doors are locked, the Hyundai Santa Fe activates the lights and emits an acoustic signal.

The technology focused on infotainment and comfort, in which Hyundai will not be lacking either has emphasized this fourth generation with an eye on the tough competition. The instrumentation panel will be completely digital, while in the center console will be equipped with a seven-inch touch screen from which the entire entertainment system will be handled and will be compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto .

Thinking of comfort, we also find technology such as the automatic opening of the “hands-free” tailgate. In the case of Grand Santa Fe , it comes with a foldable seat. A good technological salute with an eye on its rivals.
