Just like Instagram with screenshots, WhatsApp prepares a new update to protect our privacy from gossipers.
Warning: Be careful with forwarding messages through WhatsApp because the app will begin to notify others that you have done so.
It is a new feature that will come with version 2.18.30 of the app, currently only available in beta. When it arrives, you will see a message that says “Forwarded message” if one of your messages has been sent to another person. This will also happen when you forward another persons message to a third party. Your contact will be notified that you have forwarded their messages to someone else.
The purpose of this update is to discourage users who intend to expose someone else’s messages without permission. It would not be strange if WhatsApp had also implemented a screen capture detector, like the one Telegram has for secret chats. If that day comes, and as has happened with Instagram, users will scream in the sky and then forget that WhatsApp was once a hotbed of gossips.
