Samsung announces QLED TVs that mimics the wall behind them
CES is the place to see TV ads, but Samsung held an event in New York focused on showing their new line of QLED devices that will hit the market soon.
The line shown includes 11 models distributed across the range of QLED TV, UHD Premium, UHD and Ultra Large Screen TV. Among the features we find the presence of the intelligent voice assistant Bixby and one that has caught our attention: Ambient Mode.
The Ambient Mode offers information of general interest on the screen, such as news, traffic or weather (a concept similar to what we see on mobile phones) and is able to detect and mimic the color or pattern of the wall them. Almost makes them look transparent.
Another feature is One Visible Connection that will use a single power cable and transmit data to the TV. Finally QLED TV models Q9F and Q8F will have Direct Full Array technology (DFA, direct backlight) that offers a better display of the contrast for the images mounted on the screen.

QLED TV: Models in the QLED TV line of 2018 include – Q9F (65 “, 75”, 88 “), Q8F (55”, 65 “, 75”), Q7C (55 “, 65”), Q7F ( 55 “, 65”, 75 “) and Q6F (49”, 55 “, 65”, 75 “, 82”). QLED TVs feature enhanced color and contrast, support for HDR10 +, Ambient Mode, Smart TV enhancements with Bixby Voice, One Remote Control and One Invisible Connection. Only the One Invisible Connection can be used with the Q7 series and higher models.
Premium UHD: Models in the 2018 UHD Premium line include NU8500 and NU8000. Premium UHD TVs include features such as dynamic crystal color, HDR10 + support, clean cable solutions, and Smart TV enhancements with Bixby Voice and One Remote Control.
UHD: Models in the 2018 UHD TV line include NU7100 (75/65/55/50/43/40 “) and NU7300 (65/55”). These UHD TVs include features such as 4K UHD and HDR image capabilities, clean cable solutions, slim design and Smart TV capabilities.
TV with Ultra Large Screen: Models including Q6FN, NU8000, Q7F and Q9F are included in the ultra large screen TV line, offering screen sizes that are 75 inches or larger. These models reflect consumer demand for televisions with a larger screen for a more immersive and immersive viewing experience at home.
The statement indicates that the line will be available in stores starting in March. The price and availability of specific models will depend on the region and for now we only know that the ultra large screen line will cost up to USD $ 3800 for the largest model.
