The first images of the 2019 Kia Ceed Sportswagon  has been leaked online

Few days ago the South Korean manufacturer unveiled the new generation of Kia Ceed, a hatchback model that will debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Surprisingly the Kia Ceed also has a second format, a Sportswagon that has just been leaked online.

The family version of the new Ceed doesn’t present great surprises in its design, since it is practically the same as the hatchback in its frontal area. Of course the lagging has been redesigned to include a longer overhang and a new format, which allowed the Ceed Sportswagon 2019 to be more spacious with bigger trunk.

Although the manufacturers have not provided technical details about the Ceed’s family version, we understand that its engine will offer something similar to the hatchback, that is to say, the gasoline family opens with a 100-hp 1.4-liter MPi naturally aspirated unit and continues with Kia’s 120-hp 1.0-liter T-GDi turbocharged unit, with the range-topper being a new 1.4-liter T-GDi rated at 140 hp. Diesel fans will be able to go for an all-new “U3” turbodiesel engine available in two states of tune: 115 hp and 136 hp. It’s the torquiest engine on offer, with a peak torque of 280 Nm.

Every engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.4-liter T-GDi and 1.6-liter CRDi engines are also available with Kia’s seven-speed double-clutch transmission. The Ceed Sportswagon is also fitted with a Drive Mode Select system that allows drivers to tailor engine and steering characteristics with Normal or Sport modes.

The interior is identical with that of the hatch, offering a “floating” infotainment system available either as a 5- or 7-inch touchscreen audio system, or 8-inch touchscreen navigation system powered by TomTom. The interface fully integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Ceed is also available with Kia’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including a new Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Forward Collision Warning with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.
