​Real Madrid legend rules out La Liga return

Real Madrid legend has ruled out a return to La Liga as he seeks to end his career elsewhere other than Spain, according to report.

Iker Casillas wants to see out his contract with FC Porto, he has a year left in his contract with the Portuguese Champions, he chooses to remain with the Dragoes until he finally decides to end his playing career.

“It would be nice to have had only a few clubs in my career,” insisted Casillas, who joined Porto from Madrid in July 2015 after coming through the club’s youth ranks as a 10-year-old and spending almost 25 years with Los Blancos.

Casillas controversially left Santiago Bernabeu and his father openly criticize the manner of his departure, and in his opinion, he said the former club captain was forced out of the club by president Florentino Perez.

Nonetheless, Casillas says he has no regrets after a career that saw him pick up a raft of honours.

“I spent a large part of my life at Real Madrid, which is the best club in history.

“But I came to Portugal and joined a strong team like Porto, so that makes me very happy.

“I’d like to finish my career with Porto and go to the end of my contract,” Casillas told Portuguese broadcaster RTP.

The legendary goalkeeper won five La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, four Spanish Super Cup, three Champions League titles, two European Super Cup, one FIFA club cup and two intercontinental titles with Real Madrid before he left for Porto in 2015.
