It’s no news to anyone that Daniel Craig is seriously thinking about leaving the James Bond franchise and unfortunately for his successor, Craig did a great job in this role, establishing himself as one of the best Bond performers.
According to the DAILY STAR website, director Antoine Fuqua and producer Barbara Broccoli talked about the possibility that the next James Bond will be a black actor.
DAILY STAR noted that Barbara Broccoli believes it is the perfect time to make an actor of African descent play the legendary Agent 007.
And if you think about it, Idris Elba meets all the characteristics to bring to fruition the next James Bond films: he is British, has a great personality, and has everything to be a man of action.
However, after hearing this rumour, The Hollywood Reporter reported that they spoke with a representative of Antoine Fuqua, who denied that the director had conversations with Broccoli.
“He never had a conversation with Barbara about the franchise or about any casting, it’s all invented, I’m not sure how it started,” the representative told THR.
That entertainment blog also looked for a spokesman for Idris Elba, but has not yet commented.
