Senator representing Delta senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has again kicked against the reelection of anyone from Delta north senatorial district as governor of the state next year.
Omo-Agege who spoke at Eku, Ethiope east local government area said he was firmly in support of an Urhobo to emerge governor of the state, stressing that he was behind the governorship aspiration of Chief Great Ogboru in the part.
The Senator who also enjoined the people of the senatorial district to support his re election bid said he encouraged a situation which would allow ward, local government executive members of the party to be actively involved in the decision of deciding the governorship , senatorial candidates of the party.
“Today I speak as the Senator representing Delta senatorial district. I have come today to formerly inform you that I wish to serve Urhobo in the senate.
“Some Urhobo don’t want an Urhobo man for governor. I support Great Ogboru for governor not because he is Urhobo but he has the most qualified and competent. We need Oghoru, Omo Agege to deliver President Buhari in our state”, he said.
Former national Secretary of NUPENG, Chief Frank Ovie Kokori who also spoke drummed up support for the reelection of Senator Omo-Agege, adding that Ogboru should also be voted to be governor of the state.
“Let us re-elect our Senator. Great Ogboru has been in the struggle for governorship, this time he will win. Let us all give them all the support for their victory”, he added.
On his part, Chief Ogboru assured the state of a better deal when elected.
