Nigeria’s new startup incubator, Itanna held its very first Demo Day Event in Lagos on Friday, 30th of November 2018.
Itanna which was launched by Honeywell Group in 2017, held the event to mark an end to its four month startup accelerator programme.
Speaking at the event, Honeywell chief, Obafemi Otudeko said the incubator was setup to help young talents in Africa leverage their ideas, visions, expertise, and resources to create innovative trends in business.
Itanna had selected Accounteer, KoloPay, TradeBuza and PowerCube as the four startups to take part in its inaugural four month accelerator programme.
Understanding the solutions these startups provide, Naijaroko learnt that Accounteer works as a localised accounting platform for SMEs. PowerCube is a clean alternative energy solution addressing the problem of power generation in Nigeria. Kolopay is an automated savings platform which allows users save towards specific goals and also carry out those transactions and TradeBuza is an web-based platform for brokering commodities, sourcing and outgrower scheme.
Over the last few months, each of these startup received $25,000 seed capital, mentorship, business advice from experts and the basic support required to grow their solutions.
The Itanna Demo Day also gave the startups the chance to showcase their businesses to investors, venture funds, entrepreneurs and other partners from the Itanna network.
